"Forget Hell"
These words were forcibly impressed upon me as I observed them in a cartoon which was under the glass top of a businessman's desk. FORGET HELL. Yes, that is just what many would like to do. If there were no hell, what liberty that would give to indulge in every form of sin and worldly pleasure and allow one to live the life of his choice without fear. But there IS a HELL and forgetting it does not eliminate it.
God never created hell for mankind. The Bible says hell was "prepared for the devil and his angels' (Matt. 25:41). The Bible also says, "Hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure" (Isa. 5:14). If any man goes to hell it is because he has forgotten Hell. The Bible is clear as to who will be in hell. Psalm 9:17 declares, "the wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Revelation 21:8 clearly states, "The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Friend, the writer of this tract found several things in this verse which perfectly described him and it caused him to think … "Where shall I be in eternity?" Then to ask the question, "What must I do to be saved?" The Bible that tells us there is a hell, and who shall be there, also tells us there is a heaven and how to get there. Isaiah 55:7 states, "Let the wicked [or sinner] forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. God's Word says in Job 33:27,28, "If any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; He [God] will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light."
Dear sinner, accept God's offer of mercy and pardon which is alone to be found in Christ Jesus our Lord who paid the price for our redemption with His own blood on the cross of Calvary. If you do, you can FORGET HELL and look forward to being in heaven. If you do not, there is no other way of escape. Hebrews 2:3 says, "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?"
