After nearly a half century of individual soul-winning, I can say that I have spoken with thousands upon thousands on the subject of their spiritual welfare. But never to the present time can I speak to a single soul for Christ without Satan suggesting to me that I am in danger of harming the cause I seek to promote by introducing Christ to this person just now.

If there is one thing that Satan is urgent to soul winners about, it is the danger of a Christian possibly hindering a needy soul by speaking of Christ at this time. He has more than once or twice, or three times, kept me from speaking by his pious caution, and he has tried a thousand times to do so.

Of course, Satan's real cause is to keep souls from being born again and saved from an eternal hell. Therefore, my experience leads me to conclude that he is urging souls to try any method for the salvation of souls except the real one, and he would urge the soul-winner to wait for a "better" time or circumstance to witness. May we be aware of these "wiles of the devil" and speak boldly now in this accepted time and day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2).
