The Greatest Missionary
God sent His Son into this world on a wonderful mission of mercy. What was His motive? Love, wondrous love. What was His purpose? To save sinners. Now He says to His own, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
There came a time when God put into my heart the faith to go forth with the message of His salvation, especially to the Bahamas. I found there a different culture, different religions, and primitive living, but all needed the same Saviour. In living among them, I was conscious that many were observing my ways and activities. Schools were visited with the gospel, and open air meetings were held in various villages. People were eager to receive Bibles or Testaments to read.
At times hurricanes destroyed a lot of homes with their belongings. There were temporal needs as well as spiritual needs to be met. The joy of witnessing souls saved far surpassed the hardships experienced. God will bless whatever time and means are invested in reaching out to needy souls.
"The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest" (Luke 10:2).
