Joy is one thing the world is looking for, but they do not know that it can be found in Christ. Often we hear something like this, when we speak to one about being a Christian; "I don't want to be sad." One young person said to us, "You don't drink, or go to movies, or dance, or even smoke. What fun in the world do you have anyway?" We tried to tell him of the joy we had in the Lord, but he just could not understand it. While the world may not be able to understand our joy, they should be able to see it in the Christian. But all too often they cannot, because the Christian is not experiencing the joy he could and should have, and this tremendous virtue remains a hidden secret.
