Shortness of Joy
It has been said that the shortest verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept" (John 11:35). But in the Greek we find this has three words, whereas "Rejoice evermore" (1 Thess. 5:16) has only two Greek words. However, there is a lovely connection between these two short verses. The Christian's joy flows from the sympathy and grace of his Saviour. Jesus wept—we rejoice evermore.
