One of the worst dreams of all is that if you do the best you can, if you live a respectable life, if you join a church, if you help the poor and needy, then, when you die, you will go to heaven. In eternity, men who have died trusting their own works will be rudely awakened from such a dream.

God has provided the Bread of Life whereby, if a man eat thereof, he shall live forever. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I AM the Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this Bread, he shall live forever " (John 6:51). What is it to eat Christ? It is to receive Him into your inner-most being. Just as you take food and receive it into your physical body, so take Christ. When you by faith receive Him into your own heart and life, you are eating the Living Bread, and will never awaken to find it a bad dream.

Jesus alone is the Bread of Life that can satisfy your spiritual hunger for forgiveness and salvation. He says, "I AM the Bread of Life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst" (John 6:35).
