"Seal Not the Sayings"

As this issue of Moments For You is the final one of this epoch of time, we do well to reflect upon the grace and mercies of God in faithfully and increasingly sending forth the gospel to the world. Though the voice of this little magazine has only been heard for the last forty-three years, we praise the Lord for the opportunity to have

distributed without charge (but with much prayer) about five million copies throughout the world in those years, with circulation having grown to fifty-four thousand copies this issue.

As we approach the year 2000, we look all the more expectantly for the coming of the Lord in the air for His own and then to this earth in power and glory. Since His coming will terminate the day of grace and salvation, and also initiate His righteous judgments upon an apostate world, we feel burdened more than ever to proclaim His truth to as many of the world's now six billion inhabitants as possible.

The apostle John was told, "Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand" (Revelation 22:10). That time referred to is the consummation of all things, when Christ, the Alpha and Omega, will stand at the terminus of time, and with Almighty power turn the stream of human history and global governments into a channel of new destiny manifested in His everlasting dominion of righteousness, glory and blessing.

It is instructive to see in verse eleven the twofold response to the "sayings" of the prophecy. "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." Sadly, those who denounce, ridicule and refuse the message of the gospel and the truth of Christ's coming will find their eternal state fixed in judgment. Solemnly, the preaching of the gospel is either a "savor of death unto death" or a "savor of life unto life" (2 Corinthians 2:16). If it does not save, it condemns and is an instrument of judgment rather than of salvation.

Today many do not believe that the salvation of one's never-dying soul is possible only through the blood of the slain and risen Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, totally apart from any works or merit of man. To all such we would "seal not the sayings" of the coming of Christ, assured by Alpha and Omega, that name of the Lord Jesus Christ which may best describe His character in the ominous days soon to transpire on earth. "Behold, I come quickly."

It is our desire to devote this issue to making known some of the measureless magnitude and magnificence of the truth embodied in Christ as the Alpha and Omega, and the significance that this name of His is reserved for the last book of the Bible, in which we find outlined God's future plans for man and earth. Regretfully, space limits presentation of this Limitless One.
