"He's Left All"
Two friends met in the street. They had just heard of the sudden death of a mutual acquaintance, possessed of much of this world's goods.
"What has he left?" inquired one.
He's left all," was the abrupt and unexpected reply.
Yes, and when you come to die, my unconverted reader, YOU WILL LEAVE ALL—your friends, your home, your pleasures, your money, your all.
But wait, there is something you would gladly leave behind, but you cannot: YOUR GUILTY SINS.
What you would take with you you cannot, and what you would give worlds on a death bed to leave behind you cannot—YOUR SINS.
Not one forgotten by God, they will prove awkward companions at the judgment seat—the great white throne.
If a criminal is confronted with half a dozen unimpeachable witnesses, he knows, with a sickening dread, he cannot escape. You will be surrounded by YOUR SINS—sins of youth, middle age, and riper years; sins secret and public; unforgiven, unforgotten sins; and there will be no escape.
Ah! your excuses will die away on your pale and ashen lips as those numberless witnesses unite in hissing out the awful story of your guilty life.
It is no use shirking the great question of your soul's salvation. It is mad folly to go on careless and unconcerned. One day you will wake up. It is our burning desire that you should be aroused now, while salvation is within your grasp.
Oh! now, in mercy's day, flee to the shelter of the blood. Trust the Saviour who died on Calvary's tree—the risen, exalted, glorified Saviour, and salvation is yours on the spot. "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from ALL SIN" (1 John 1:7).
