Christ Arose!
Christ arose! O'er death He was triumphant;
Now He lives—forevermore to save.
To His own He showed Himself as risen,
As they mourned and wept beside the grave.
Jesus Lives!—Oh He's the joy of living;
Jesus Lives!—The power to sustain.
Step by step each day He walks beside me.
I will trust Him 'til He comes again.
Our Great Saviour
HE would relieve our consciences with a peace which He has made for us Himself by His own precious blood.
HE would satisfy our hearts with attractions that are divine and ineffable, attractions that are all presented to us in Himself.
He would keep us from anxious care in all the affairs of this life by bringing Himself into them as our Resource and Guide.
"Choose you this day whom ye will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15).
Those who would influence others to choose the right course must first make that decision themselves. There is a homely couplet, applicable to all Christian workers, which reads as follows:
You cannot teach what you do not know;
You cannot lead where you do not go.
—O.L. Clark
