Happiness
Are you a happy person? If not, it's not God's fault: for God wants you to be happy. "But how?" you may ask. Well, first of all we must discover the underlying cause of unhappiness. It is sin that makes people unhappy, and the pleasures of sin are only for a time. However, the Son of God came into the world to take away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Have you ever thanked Him for His love in dying for you? Whenever a sinner goes to Him in repentance and faith, He will cleanse the soul from sin on the basis of Christ's precious blood shed on Calvary's cross. Then you will be able to sing "Happy day when Jesus washed my sins away." Psalm 32 says, "Blessed [or, happy] is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered." And again, "Happy is that people whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 114:15).
After trusting the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, He will fill your heart with joy and peace, and your life will be meaningful. "In Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" (Psalm 16:11).
Right now, look up toward heaven and see Him by faith, a living, glorified Saviour at the right hand of God the Father and ask, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" He can do more with your life than you can if you're willing to allow Him to have His way in your life. Your life then will be one of usefulness, of fulfillment, and satisfaction.
Trust and obey;
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
