That Which Does Not Fail

The days have come when everything in this world has begun to crumble and fail. The time is near when men's hearts will fail "them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken" (Luke 21:26). The things in which this age boasts will be laid in the dust. The pleasures and earthly comforts fail, and that which is proud and exalted will be brought low and humbled.

But God's people, who walk in fellowship with the Lord, know the things which will not fail which remain unshaken in the days of distress and increasing difficulties.

They know that THE LORD HIMSELF will not fail His believing, trusting children. Let us notice some of the promises of the Word concerning this: "Be strong and of a good courage . . . He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" (Deut. 31:6). "I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" (Josh. 1:5). "He shall not fail nor be discouraged" (Isa. 42:4). "He faileth not" (Zeph. 3:5).

HIS COMPASSIONS will not fail: "His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness" (Lam. 3:22,23). His faithfulness will not fail: "Nor suffer My faithfulness to fail" (Psa. 89:33).

HIS WORD of promise does not fail: "There hath not failed one word of all His good promise" (1 Kings 8:56). "Seek ye out of the Book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail" (Isa. 34:16). "There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass" (Josh. 21:45). "Ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you . . . not one thing hath failed thereof" (Josh. 23:14).

HIS PROVISION does not fail: "And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the Word of the Lord, which He spake by Elijah" (1 Kings 17:16).

HIS INTERCESSION will not fail on behalf of His people. To Peter the Lord said, "Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not" (Luke 22:31,32).

This is the time when all begins to fail, that we, His people will find out that He faileth not, and He is a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering God.

Does my reader know this Saviour—God who does not fail? Surely you realize the breakdown and failure in every realm of society. As another wrote: "Men and things are failing fast. Only Jesus will remain when time is past" (F.W. Grant). Do you know Jesus as your personal Saviour who died for your sins and lives to keep and protect you? If not, well might your heart fail with fear! But He wants to save you. Do you ask "What must I do to be saved?" Hear the divine answer: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:30,31).

It is then you will know the One who removes all fear, for He says to those who trust Him, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my Helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Heb. 13:5,6).
