Sow in Tears--Reap in Joy
To sow in tears does not mean that we go about very mournfully, acting like a wet blanket on all we meet. If we have a real yearning for souls, we will weep over them. We will plead with God in much earnestness, as did Moses, Elijah and others. The sowing has to be done in tears if there is to be reap-ing in joy. Oftentimes our labors are too superficial because we do not spend enough time and care over the sowing. Would that we were more tender-hearted and compassionate, even as Christ (Heb. 5:7). He sowed in tears, but oh what joy and rejoicing there will be when "He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied" (Isaiah 53:11).
