God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him

"COMMIT thy way unto the Lord; TRUST also in Him: and He shall BRING IT TO PASS." Psalm 37:5

In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength" (Isaiah 30:15).

Today strength is a great national word. All powers are striving to be strong nationally, economically, financially, but alas, not spiritually. The Lord turns from the nation to individual believers—"be strong and of a good courage" (Joshua 1:6,7,9); "be strong in the Lord" (Ephesians 6:10). What a need today for believers to feed on the Word of God daily, to "grow in grace," and thus be "strong in the Lord."

"In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord" (Ephesians 2:21).

If you want to see the spiritual house in perfection, look at Revelation 21. How beautifully the stones shine there! They are exactly the same stones as are being prepared today, but by the time we get there we will have been on the great Jeweler's wheel to the uttermost; and every bit of dirt, and every ugly distortion will have been taken off. The patient wheel of His discipline will have rendered the stones beautiful. Weep not, then, over the bits removed. He is fashioning you to fit that lustrous setting in glory.

O set yourself for use. A stone that may
Fit in the wall is not left in the way.

True Power

The true secret of all ministry is spiritual power. It is not man's genius, or man's intellect, or man's energy, but simply the power of the Spirit of God. This was true in the days of Moses, and it is true today. "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6). It is well for all Christian workers to bear this in mind. If the Holy Spirit be not the spring and power, all Christian service must sooner or later lose its freshness and its effectiveness.
