Unnecessarily Blind
Rose Crawford had been blind for fifty years. "I just can't believe it!" she gasped when the doctors lifted the bandages from her eyes. She had undergone delicate surgery in an Ontario hospital and her sight had been restored. She wept for joy when, for the first time in her life, a beautiful world greeted her eyes that had only known darkness. The amazing thing about this incident is that twenty years of her blindness had been unnecessary! She didn't know that new surgical techniques had been developed to solve her condition, and an operation could have restored her vision two decades before. The doctor said, "She just figured there was nothing that could be done about her condition. Much of her life could have been different."
Perhaps you are spiritually blind and have not been told about the cure provided. The Bible says, "The god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not" (2 Corinthians 4:4). This is unnecessary blindness because, through the Word of God and the light of the gospel, spiritually blinded eyes can be made to see. The remedy for blindness because of sin is found alone in Christ who died for our sins. No matter who or where you are, this remedy is for you!
Are you still in the dark? Christ alone is Light! Believe on Him and be saved, and be able to say, "One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see" (John 9:25).
