All Five Go Together
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24). In this Scripture we have five precious things that all go together and must not be separated:
1. Heareth,
2. Believeth,
3. Hath,
4. Shall Not,
5. Is.
Someone may say, "Oh! yes, I know all that. I've read that verse over and over again, and yet still I do not feel that I'm saved."
The reason you are having this difficulty is because you are adding feeling to this bundle of five precious things, and leaving out believing. Feeling is not in the verse at all. The Lord puts hearing first; then believing; then hath; then shall not; then is.
You must not make your feeling to be your saviour instead of Christ. Once you have heard God's Word, and believed Him when He says that He sent His Son Jesus to die for you personally, then you have His assurance of the last three precious things in this bundle, for they all go together.
